Opus 1144 by Filippo Sorcinelli is an extrait de parfum inspired by the birth of the Gothic style, which symbolically began with the laying of the first stone of the Basilica of Saint-Denis, just outside Paris, in 1144. An intense and monumental fragrance, built as an olfactive architecture capable of evoking verticality, shadow, light, and matter.

The composition develops on a deep and enveloping structure, where white musk, vanilla, sandalwood, ambergris, and leather build a rich, warm, and persistent base. In the heart, benzoin meets the soft nuances of cashmere wood, the elegance of orchid, and the powdery character of iris, creating a refined balance between resinous sweetness and floral depth. The tail introduces a brighter and more aromatic vibration, with lemon, mandarin, jasmine, and elemi, which give the fragrance openness, tension, and breath.
