When I open my eyes again I find my nose numb with oriental scents, age-old temptations of pleasure and warmth. I'm in Varanasi, the oldest holy city in India. On the banks of the Ganges, dust floats in the air during a sacred ritual as someone jumps into the river to purify their past and present life sins (a good omen for what is to come). I hear a strange sound. It's the alarm clock and it was just a dream! Still, I could swear I could smell amber, frankincense and myrrh on my clothes.
